Metronidazole tablets are a prescription-only medicine for treating a variety of infections such as Bacterial Vaginosis, Trichomoniasis, and dental issues. Metronidazole 400mg tablets are a type of antibiotic. The drug works by killing excess bacteria in the teeth, vagina, or stomach to relieve the burning pain. The treatment takes up to 7 days, although the patient feels better within the first few days of taking Metronidazole.
Common bacterial infections occur when there is an imbalance of the PH of the environment. For instance, changes in the vaginal PH causes trichomoniasis, while changes in PH of the mouth cause tooth infections. Metronidazole works by killing the excess bacteria that cause the imbalance. It returns the environment to normal, thus eliminating tooth pain, vaginal itching, and an odor that comes with the infections.
