Voltarol Emulgel is a topical anti-inflammatory gel designed to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in joints and muscles. It contains the active ingredient diclofenac diethylammonium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by targeting the root cause of pain and inflammation. The emulgel formula is a combination of a gel and cream, making it easy to absorb through the skin while providing a cooling and soothing effect. Voltarol is commonly used to treat conditions such as sprains, strains, sports injuries, and back pain, as well as arthritis-related joint pain.
Voltarol Emulgel works by inhibiting the action of cyclooxygenase (COX), an enzyme involved in the production of chemicals called prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin production, diclofenac in Voltarol helps alleviate pain and swelling in the affected area. The emulgel formula allows the gel to penetrate deeply into the tissues to deliver fast and effective relief. The cooling sensation further helps ease discomfort, making it suitable for both acute injuries and chronic pain conditions like osteoarthritis.
You must always follow the instructions given by your doctor, or follow the instructions provided on the product label.
